The role is: Community Support Worker
The focus of this role is to assist people with disabilities to live in the community in a setting which
promotes self confidence, independence and choice.
The tasks are varied and will depend on the needs and aspirations of each person. This may include
assistance with daily activities such as community participation, socialising, work or education,
personal cares and domestic chores, as well as responsibility for reporting and administration.
Requirements for the role are:
• A commitment to support people to achieve their personal goals
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Basic computer skills (use of Microsoft Office, email, internet, etc)
• Full New Zealand driver's licence and confident driving manual vehicles
• Physically fit to undertake a moderately active role
• Able to provide assistance with personal cares such as bathing, dressing and cooking
• Relevant training/qualification would be an advantage but full training is provided
• Because we provide 24 hour support, applicants must also be able to work rostered shifts
(including occasional nights and weekends)
